Thinking of learning Reiki? Here’s something I want you to know…

When I first became a Reiki teacher nearly twenty years ago, I was taught the reiki lineage — not as a badge of superiority, but to trace the path of the wisdom.
The shorter the line, the more direct the connection, was the general idea. Coming from a background in publications, where citing your sources is key, this made sense.
And this still holds a certain resonance, as in a world full of Reiki Masters, knowing the path the teachings have taken can help students choose the ‘right’ guide.
However, over the years, a deeper truth has revealed itself too.
We inhabit a world where the race to be first, to own ideas, to package and replicate someone else’s inspiration in the guise of uniqueness, is everywhere.
In the noise of this un-spiritual environment, the true source of sacred knowledge becomes blurred — even lost.
As you’ll discover when learning about Mrs. Takata, the evolution of Reiki itself is an unfinished book.
Nowadays I go further, pushing you to question where the book began.
Energy just is. Energy is everywhere. Energy is in everything.The dance of energy spans the tombes and tombs of civilisation- beyond and before!
The reiki lineage story is one of both preservation and redirection. It tells a tale of wisdom passed through human hands, with each shaping it in their own way- whether intentionally or not.
This is why I believe that we need a spiritual reset. We must work through the ego led desire to be on top, to be revered, to be rated highest- and return to honouring our ancestry.
It is right to remember that we are a part of the chain, that we are ALL the bigger picture.
We may not get to see it in this lifetime, but we each play a crucial part. We don’t need to shout for it to be seen- because it will be seen where it matters. It is known.
So let’s give thanks to all our teachers, but also honour one another as we are all mirrors. We are all teachers.
The opportunities for reflection which we each present to one another are infinite. Start noticing- and thanking those who bring things to your attention for reflection- what is this person showing you? What are they teaching you?
Let’s do this not to validate or verify a practice — but to nestle ourselves in, root ourselves deeper into the true fibre of life, the true spirit of connection- true connectedness. You can be sure that this is not measured by number of acquaintances!!!!
